Boogie is a boutique music festival held each Easter about an hour from Melbourne that works towards maximum sustainability. Four years on, Treecreds have been engaged by Boogie to conduct an onsite energy and waste audit of the event. The assessment results enable Boogie’s carbon footprint to be determined, reduced and then entirely offset. Treecreds also continually assess and make recommendations for reduction of waste, water and emissions at future festivals.

Boogie was the first festival to adopt the Treecreds “carbon offset car-pass” and has meant that the last three events have actually been carbon positive.

Other initiatives at Boogie have included patrons being given a free return train ticket to further reduce Boogie’s carbon footprint, ban on disposable containers and bottled water and full recycling of all organics onsite using a permanent vericulture (worm farm) system.
